Jrc Radar 1000 Mk2 Manual Treadmill
My dear fellow sailormen,in my newly acquired Dufour the radar doesn't work. When I turn the unit on, a normal screen appears but without any echoes. The previous owner - prior to the sale - explained to me that this was due to the fact that the installer cut the cable and re-connected it as shown on the picture. Do you think this is a viable explanation?I try to attach picturesErik the lucky.whonowownstheboatofhisdreamsBoth my boats have had the cable cut (to facilitate dropping the mast) and joined as yours is. It worked OK. Check your wires are connected properly, most radars have a self check facility, if the scanner isnt working it will tell you.Stu.

Are you sure you are pressing the XMIT button?
The radar only works in Standby mode until you press XMIT.To stop transmitting, press it again, and it goes into Standby. It does this, as the current draw is high. There is also an internal fuse of5a I thinkThere is a (3 minute?) warmup time. Sometmes for some reason the contrast gets adjusted. Have you tried to 'increase' the contrast during the warmup time? You should see the countdown timer for warm up.I have the JRC 1800.Try sending a PM to BurnhamBob on here. He had a manual a couple of years ago in PDF format.
I had the same problem on a Furuno unit. I turned out to be the signal line - exactly the same symptoms, no echoes. From looking at your pic, I would say the signal line is the 4th wire from the left in the plastic tube shield. This wire is extremely fine, what I had to do is get some data wire (RS-232 / cat 5 data wire) and solder it on to the end of each end of the signal wire so you have a nice bridge between the 2 ends of the fine wire.
All soldered and heat shrinked. When you next take your mast down you can simply snip the thicker wire and next time you could connect either end to the chock block or solder in a new piece.Worked a treat for me. I think the signal wire is too fine to go through a strip connector?
